Homemaker services offer direct and practical assistance with household tasks and related activities. Homemaker services assist the client who has experienced a loss in the ability to perform the instrumental activities of daily living to remain in a safe, clean, and healthy home environment. Instrumental Activities of Daily Living refer to certain daily tasks, such as light housework, preparing meals, shopping for groceries or clothes, and using the telephone, which enable clients to live independently in their community.
Companion/Sitter services include non-medical care, socialization and basic supervision to ensure a client's safety and well-being. Companions may provide light housekeeping tasks, which are secondary to the care and supervision of the client.
